Another German sled — Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken — finished second, and the Austrian team of Thomas Steu and Lorenz Koller was third. That was enough to keep the Austrians in the lead in the season’s overall doubles standings, barely ahead of Eggert and Benecken.
Chris Mazdzer and Jayson Terdiman of the U.S. were fifth in the doubles race.
In men’s singles later Friday, Austria’s Wolfgang Kindl won, with Russia’s Roman Repilov finishing second and Olympic champion David Gleirscher of Austria taking third for his first World Cup medal. Tucker West was the top American, finishing eighth.
