However, even with so many fans still loving Skyrim, there’s a part of the game that has created unintentional entertainment since its launch. This aspect of Skyrim is the game’s bugs and glitches, which are often seen as a major sign of unfinished development in today’s gaming world. But Skyrim managed to be released with bugs without getting too much criticism for it, as these problems would often be entertaining. From weapon duplications to Khajiit swimming in mid-air, Skyrim players have encountered all sorts of immersion-breaking and hilarious bugs.

Even after 10 years on the market, the majority of Skyrim’s bugs are still available for players to bump into, with new and strange events occurring all throughout the game. One player on Reddit recently found out about Skyrim’s wealth of glitches the hard way, as they were witness to an NPC taking flight in Skyrim’s city of Riften. In the short clip the player posted to Reddit, an NPC can be seen spinning slowly in front of the player, hovering just above ground.
It appears as though the player has first grabbed the NPC, like they would a prop or weapon by holding down the interact button, yet the NPC quickly frees themselves from the Dragonborn’s grasp, flying off into the sky as the speed of their spinning increases. When the player who posted the clip asked what is happening in the clip, another player simply responded, “Skyrim’s happening.” Other players referred to this as the average Skyrim experience, while some said it wasn’t a bug at all and that the NPC was merely on skooma, an addictive drug in The Elder Scrolls universe.
The NPC in this clip is one of the beggars found in Riften. Edda is not one of the most memorable NPCs in Skyrim, though like all beggars in the game she can bestow the Gift of Charity buff on the Dragonborn at the cost of one gold piece.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
