For most FromSoftware titles, the bosses are typically some of the most difficult enemies players will encounter. Elden Ring, in particular, is home to some of the most difficult bosses in gaming, such as Malenia. However, there are a fair number of regular enemies in Elden Ring that are quite challenging to fight, no matter what level players achieve. One of the most difficult being the Runebear, which one player recently defeated through unexpected means.

Over on Reddit, a user named GrammarTarnished posted a gameplay clip where a Runebear somehow clipped through the ground, while the player was in the middle of fighting the bear. The user joked that the bear was apparently “needed in Nokron,” which is located directly underneath the main map of Elden Ring, but either way, it’s quite humorous to witness.

While this glitch by itself is fairly surprising, it’s not exactly an uncommon occurrence within Elden Ring. Since the initial launch of the game, many players have noticed similar glitches involving enemies clipping through various parts of the environment. For instance, one Elden Ring player saw a Caelid dog glitch through the wall of a building while trying to run away from the enemy.

It’s amazing how players are still managing to find all these different glitches within Elden Ring. For now, it’s safe to assume that a lot of the major glitches in Elden Ring that cause cheap deaths have been removed, but every so often, players will witness something like the Runebear glitch in unanticipated circumstances.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Elden Ring going forward. It has been confirmed that DLC for Elden Ring will release sometime in 2023, but right now, it’s impossible to know for sure what that DLC could look like. Given the open-world nature of Elden Ring, it’s likely that the DLC content might be slightly divergent from what longtime FromSoftware fans have come to expect in terms of DLC.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
