We’re with you, Washington resident Ed Ball and your Change.org movement. We, too, believe a goofy but lovable permantly permed 54-year-old entertainer known for his brilliant pop parodies is the ideal choice for the league.

Here’s just a sample of Ball’s eloquence. We agree with every word.

So true, Ed.

After all, after years of plugging away as a nerd favorite, Weird Al has just enjoyed his first No. 1. Pop star in the Bruno Mars vein? We believe that qualifies.

Besides, Up With People and Carol Channing once used to own the halftime stage. Weird Al also fits in with that recent trend of veteran rockers. Every way you cut it, he’s not a novetly act. He’s the right act.

Of course, we would want his latest smashes, “Tacky” and “Word Crimes.” But just imagine that “Eat It” and “Fat” mashup/medley, followed by the underrated personal favorite, “I Lost on Jeopardy!”. Let’s do this.
