With so much to talk about last week, there were a few items that didn’t hit the front page of Game Rant, but were interesting enough to cover in some capacity. So for this week’s Weekly Video Game Round-Up, we’ll be discussing a few additional items from Gamescom.

Forza Motorsport 6 Has Hydroplaning

In preparation for the September 15th release of Forza Motorsport 6, developer Turn 10 Studios took to Gamescom to share some interesting additions they’ve made to the latest sequel. One of the biggest new features is wet weather racing, which adds a beautiful and challenging dynamic to the racing game.

As racers zip around the track, they’ll surely find enjoyment as water kicks up around them and showers their opponents as they fight for the lead. They’ll also discover that with wet roads comes the possibility of hydroplaning, which according to Turn 10 Studios has a very realistic feel, and one that should hopefully make the already authentic game feel that much more like the real thing.

Forza Motorsport 6 is set to release on September 15, 2015 for Xbox One.

Windows 10 Coming to Xbox One in November

Microsoft had plenty to show at this year’s Gamescom, including some updates about Windows 10 on Xbox One. One of the biggest news items was that the new update would be hitting Xbox One in November.

That update will include numerous features, including a new, faster user interface, better performance within apps, and of course, the highly-anticipated backward compatibility feature, which will give Xbox One gamers the opportunity to play over 100 Xbox 360 games on their current-gen console.

While Microsoft didn’t provide an exact day the update is coming, at least Xbox One gamers now have a much more defined release window.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Special Edition

Uncharted fans in Europe and Australia have something to get excited about this fall: the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection Special Edition.

The collectible edition of the Nathan Drake Collection comes with a 48-page The Art of Uncharted Trilogy artbook, a steelbook case, and some Uncharted stickers.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Special Edition will launch October 7, 2015 for PS4 in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand; and October 9, 2015 in UK and Ireland.

Former Blizzard CCO Says MMO has Become a ‘Dirty Term’

Former Blizzard CCO, Rob Pardo, has noticed many game developers have been avoiding calling their games massively multiplayer online (MMO) games, despite the fact that such games are clearly MMOs. According to Pardo, the reason developers are stearing clear of the MMO term is due to gamers’ comparing any game labeled an MMO to traditional MMOs like World of Warcraft.

It’ll be interesting to see if this trend continues, or if gamers are able to see past World of Warcraft when thinking about the MMO genre.

Rocket League Coming to Other Platforms

Rocket League has only been out for a month on PC and PS4, but it has already nabbed a whopping 5 million downloads, and has at times experienced over 100,000 concurrent players. With that kind of success, there’s no reason the developer wouldn’t bring it to additional platforms.

In a recent statement to GameSpot, developer Psyonix confirmed that Rocket League will be ported to additional platforms:

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Might Be Getting Infection Playlist

If there’s something that can make virtually any game better, it’s zombies, and that includes Halo. In a recent post from 343 Industries, the developer teased that it may be bringing a zombie-themed mode to Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The zombie mode, dubbed Infection, was originally introduced in Halo 3 and quickly became a favorite among players. For those unaware of how Infection is played, one player starts as an infected character and must try to infect every other player, spreading the infection until only one player is left. It’s like tag!

343 Industries didn’t provide any release date information, but hopefully they won’t wait too long before introducing Infected back into Halo.
