The upper-tier committees check in early, with Aaron Jones (@ Chargers), Tevin Coleman (@ Cardinals), and Melvin Gordon (vs. Packers) all getting into the borderline-RB1 tier. The latter’s ranking might surprise you given Gordon’s lack of production on the ground, but he’s usurped most of L.A.’s carries while also being active in the receiving game. It’s only a matter of time before he has a breakout game, and against Green Bay’s poor run defense, it could be coming sooner rather than later.

WEEK 9 NON-PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Some weaker committees, such as the Broncos (vs. Browns), Bills (vs. Redskins), Eagles (vs. Bears), and even the Dolphins (vs. Jets) might be able to support two fantasy-relevant backs this week. Denver’s duo are virtual must-starts against Cleveland, while Buffalo’s Frank Gore, Philadelphia’s Jordan Howard, and newly minted Miami starter Mark Walton should also be in lineups. The same would go for Sanders (shoulder) if he’s active, while Devin Singletary and Kalen Ballage would at least be FLEX considerations.

The committees that don’t excite us are the Lions (@ Raiders), Cardinals (vs. 49ers), and Bucs (@ Seahawks). The Cardinals might not actually be a committee if Kenyan Drake plays and Edmonds doesn’t – but you’re not going to feel good about playing any Arizona backs this week, at least in standard leagues. 

WEEK 9 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end

Overall, RB scoring could be down a bit this week. The top tier will do just fine, as always, but the RB2 tier is a bit lacking with “safe” options. You should be able to field at least two decent RB options this week, but your FLEX might require you to dip into your WR depth.
