There is good news and bad news for owners of the Patriots defense. The bad news is that they lost the Pats D/ST in Week 5 because of COVID concerns and a de facto bye week. The good news is that they now have them available for Week 6 in a favorable matchup with a banged-up Broncos team. Drew Lock (shoulder) will be available to start in the game, but Bill Belichick will surely have a scheme cooked up to limit the young passer and create some turnovers.

That said, with the Patriots-Broncos matchup moving to Week 6, it takes away two potentially solid streaming options. The Broncos were supposed to take on the Dolphins in Week 6 before that was rescheduled. Had that happened, they surely would have been a top-12 unit in a poor week for defenses. The Chargers, now on bye, were supposed to take on the Jets, making them the top streamer of the week.

Now, the Dolphins get the honor, and they should be one of the top D/ST pickups this week. The Jets have one of the worst offenses in the NFL, and Miami, fresh off a big showing against San Francisco, should be able to slow them down. Both teams in the Washington-Giants game are also legit options this week because of shaky QB play on both sides, and the Panthers could work as a streamer against the offensively challenged Bears.

If you’re digging a little deeper, you could try your luck at the Browns (@ Steelers) exposing another aging, immobile QB with their speedy pass rush, and the Cardinals have a little more appeal against an Andy Dalton-led Cowboys offense. Both have very low floors, though, so tread carefully.
