Only half of the above paragraph is true. Our Week 5 fantasy kickers are here to help you in the event of a kicker emergency, but no one actually cared about Hauschka being ruled inactive. He’s a probably a nice guy (I mean, he didn’t correct people for years when they were spelling his name wrong), but he’s not really fantasy-relevant this year. Even less so: Aldrick Rosas.

WEEK 5 STANDARD RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST

Heading into Week 5, we haven’t seen a lot to make us drastically change the names at the top of our rankings. Sam Sloman and Tyler Bass are rising, especially with favorable matchups this week, and Ryan Succop continues to fall after showing shaky accuracy and is headed for a game in a potential tough kicking environment (@ Chicago).

WEEK 5 PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST

Green Bay’s Mason Crosby and Detroit’s Matt Prater are both on bye this week, and since both are fantasy regulars, you might be looking for a replacement. There aren’t an abundance of indoor games – at least, for players who aren’t already heavily owned – but Ka’aimi Fairbairn (vs. Jaguars) is in play if a solid outdoor kicker like Sloman or Bass isn’t available.

WEEK 5 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

We also feel the need to remind you that you shouldn’t keep two kickers on your roster unless there are significant extenuating circumstances (and there rarely are). Prater and Crosby are not good enough to worry about losing, so drop them and pick up someone else. You’ll be fine, trust us.
