It changes that fast in the running back game, as we saw when Joe Mixon’s “cleanup procedure” was announced last Friday. We got a little bit better of an idea of how workloads will be divvied up after Week 2 (hello Phillip Lindsay and Matt Breida!), at least in the short term, but we know that can change in a hurry based on opponents/game plans, as well. The lesson – you can never feel too comfortable at this position, and you should always be looking on the waiver wire for potential adds.
Week 3 Rankings:Quarterback | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker
Once again most of the usual suspects are near the top of the rankings (sad that we’re already considering James Conner a “usual suspect”), but we’ll likely start seeing some big risers and fallers soon. Perhaps the most interesting situation to watch this week will be in Green Bay, where Aaron Jones will return from suspension and challenge Jamaal Williams for carries. Jones is the type of player who could take over that job and put up good numbers…or it could remain a super-frustrating committee. Running backs, you know?
Reminder: We will keep these rankings updated and add analysis during the week, so check back often for the latest news and injury updates! And if you’re looking for more analysis, find out how you’ll lose in Week 3 or listen to the Week 3 preview podcast.
