The congress of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF), meeting in Forde, Norway, voted unanimously in favour of a proposal to transfer the sport’s worldwide doping control system to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The global governing body, the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), will vote on Europe’s proposal in June. “Four or five years ago I was laughed at when I suggested this should happen,” said Christian Baumgartner, the German scientist, and president of his nation’s weightlifting federation, who proposed the change....

After three weeks of finishing in the top two among kickers, the Vikings Kai Forbath will get to rest his weary leg along with the kickers from the Bears, Browns, Chargers, Steelers and Patriots. Despite the departure of Stephen Gostkowski, Chris Boswell and Forbath, the top two kickers in fantasy, Greg Zuerlein and Ryan Succop, return with four other kickers. No kickers were injured in the aftermath of Week 8, and for now, it seems like all kickers have a safe job (although Gostkowski continues to miss PATs, and we know Bill Belichick probably isn’t happy about that), but we’ll be on top of it if anything changes, so check back often....

We’re still trying to figure out good and bad kicker matchups, if there is such a thing, but it’s pretty clear that it’s smart to attack bad defenses. Teams like Houston and the Jets have struggled throughout the first two weeks, and while that might be a function of the teams they’ve played, it likely will continue to be a trend. That’s why we like Boswell and Blankenship more this week, and it doesn’t hurt that Blankenship is coming off a four-FG game while Boswell seems due for more chances after getting just one attempt last week....
