Committees are also having a big effect on our rankings, especially with a few of them facing highly favorable matchups in Week 3. The Chargers RBs have a great matchup against a porous Panthers run defense. That will make Austin Ekeler a likely RB1 in standard and a sure-fire RB1 in PPR formats while Joshua Kelley looks like a legit RB2. Additionally, the Bears backs, David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen, should get a chance to do some damage against the Falcons defense, while the Ravens backfield trio of Mark Ingram, Gus Edwards, and JK Dobbins are all potentially in play because of how bad the Chiefs run defense is....

The tough matchups start with the Rams (vs. Vikings) and Vikings (@ Rams). Of course, after Minnesota’s complete debacle against the Bills, both offensively and defensively, perhaps the decision to start the Rams and/or Vikings has been made easier. The Ravens (@ Steelers) and Broncos (vs. Chiefs) are two other starting-caliber units that are outside our top 12 this week. The Packers (vs. Bills), Cardinals (vs. Seahawks), Jets (@ Jaguars), and Saints (@ Giants) jump into the top 12, but obviously none of those units are sure things (especially the Saints)....

The seven teams in the SEC West Division still must play out their mini playoff before we get anywhere close to figuring out the four teams in the College Football Playoff. The Big 12 is full of uncertainty and the Pac-12 is an utter mess. The only clear view is for defending national champion Florida State, which has one potential obstacle remaining (Notre Dame) — unless it decides to sleepwalk in any number of ACC games (would it really shock anyone?...

Per usual, our busts were pretty accurate last week. Dalvin Cook didn’t play, so we got a freebie there, but Devonta Freeman struggled to generate much on few touches. Deshaun Watson and Andy Dalton didn’t do quite as much as fantasy owners were hoping from a TD perspective. At receiver, Nelson Agholor, Doug Baldwin, and Amari Cooper all put up duds. And to top it off, our TEs and defensive units didn’t come through much either....
