So far, the answer is a resounding "no." Through five games, the Broncos quarterback is on pace for an astounding 64 touchdown passes, which would shatter Tom Brady's NFL record of 50 from 2007, and has racked up roughly 196 fantasy points in standard, six-point passing TD leagues. That's 55 points more than No. 2 QB Drew Brees and more than double the fantasy output of Brady. Don't expect Manning to slow down at all this week against Jacksonville....

Luckily, a couple of mid-tier options are returning from bye weeks. T.J. Hockenson has been, for the most part, a solid starter for the owners who drafted him late, and the Lions get a favorable matchup with the Jaguars in Week 6. He can be trusted. Robert Tonyan (@ Buccaneers) is a bit more of a risk, but he has caught five TDs in his past three games. We’re not sold on Tonyan’s long-term value, but he looks like a good-enough option this week....

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers. Newton exploded for 242 passing yards with three touchdown tosses and added 30 rushing yards with another score on the ground without turning the ball over. It’s been an up-and-down season so far for Newton, but there’s a lot of “up” left. High fives for the Eagles’ Nick Foles, the Lions’ Matthew Stafford and the Bengals’ Andy Dalton, who also cracked 30 fantasy points apiece....

Of course, some depth is lost because of the absences of Dalvin Cook, Alexander Mattison, Jonathan Taylor, Mark Ingram, J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Myles Gaskin, who will all be on bye in Week 7. Without those players, owners might have to make some riskier moves at RB2 or flex with a few committee backs.
