With the Lions and Dolphins on bye, fantasy owners should still have almost all of their top backs available this week. Injuries are causing problems, as always, but Marlon Mack (ankle) is really the only “big” injury worry. A Sunday night matchup against Kansas City makes his situation even more difficult, as his owners will definitely want to start him if he’s available. Jordan Wilkins will be a popular waiver pickup this week if there’s any concern about Mack’s status....

Here’s another positive heading into this week: Favorable matchups for several committees. The Broncos (vs. Chiefs), Eagles (@ Cowboys), Chiefs (@ Broncos), Bills (vs. Dolphins), and 49ers (@ Redskins) all feature two playable RBs this week, and while you never know who will get the touchdowns or majority of touches in some of these situations, we do know both of their respective committee backs are talented enough to take advantage of weak run defenses....

MORE WEEK 8 RANKINGS: QB | RB | WR | DEF | K FIVE STAR Julius Thomas, Broncos vs. SD. The Chargers have been great against subpar tight ends this year, but they haven’t faced anyone like Thomas yet. Start the No. 1 fantasy TE with confidence. Greg Olsen, Panthers vs. Sea. Olsen is the No. 2 fantasy TE this year, so he’s a perfect fit right behind Thomas. Plus, the Seahawks have struggled covering athletic tight ends this year, allowing the third-most fantasy points per game (FPPG) to the position....

Ertz is on pace for 80 catches across 16 games this season, which is nothing to sneeze at. But for fantasy owners who used a third-round pick on him, it’s disappointing. Ertz’s highest single-game yardage this year is 72. He’s only caught one touchdown, less than his backup, Dallas Goedert. Aside from a 16-target game in Week 2 when the Eagles’ receivers were dropping like flies, Ertz has averaged 7....

We’re doing mini game-stacks from the Saints-Vikings and Colts-Raiders games (a strategy we discussed in this week’s Perfect Lineup Review), and going all-in with a Bengals onslaught against the Bucs.
