Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys. Romo didn’t win the shootout with Peyton Manning, but he did produce more fantasy points, which is really all we care about anyway. Romo threw for an absurd 506 yards and five TDs and even threw in a 2-point conversion to make up for his interception (which ultimately did the Cowboys in). That was good for more than 50 standard fantasy points, while Manning (414 yards, five total TDs, INT) put up “only” about 44....

As always, even perennial stars can bust in favorable matchups, but it’s tough to call superstars “busts” unless they’ve really been trending downward (like Mahomes has been). We mostly stick to naming guys on the start-or-sit bubble – not guys who are simply going to have a good-but-not-great week and not guys who are on over 90 percent of waiver wires. Sometimes you don’t have the depth to reasonably bench these guys (or you might just totally disagree with our assessments), especially in a week like this....

Many fantasy owners will have a tough call this week. Carry two kickers, or send the likes of Hauschka and Santos back to the waiver wire and hope you can pick them up again in Week 10? Either way, you’ll probably see more kicker activity on the wire (or at least in free agency) as owners seek capable bye-week replacements. It’s always difficult to try to play matchups and find sleepers when it comes to kickers, but we factored in everything when putting together our fantasy kicker rankings for Week 9....

At running back, we have a rookie in Devin Singletary. He’s joined by two “backups”, Jamaal Williams and Jaylen Samuels, who occasionally look like fantasy starters. Week 4 is unique in that it’s the first week where we don’t have a few obvious spots to attack. The Falcons and the Patriots are the largest favorites and have the highest game totals at 48.5 and 49 points, respectively. Another spot that caught my eye is the Cowboys playing at home against the Rams in a game that has a total of 46.5. The Cowboys have been under the microscope after a poor showing in Week 2 against the Broncos, but it’s important to note that they have played three straight good defenses and coming home to face the Rams is an ideal explosion spot....
